To be successful as a Principal Architectural Leader in the Health Sector, a collaborative mindset is essential. As a trusted partner within the Global Health Sector, you will champion design excellence through creation of fiscally responsible, award-winning engagements with a focus on positive health outcomes. You will be supported by the full breadth and depth of the Global Health Sector team and will have the opportunity to develop integrated design proposals for cutting edge and world-class projects in partnership with top tier marketing, while leading and mentoring others and collaborating with team members to contribute to the final deliverables—bringing inspiration to your daily practice. 

Your Key Responsibilities Lead Architectural Projects: Oversee the design and delivery of major healthcare projects, ranging from medium to large in complexity. Collaborate Across Disciplines: Interface regularly with architectural and engineering leaders across North America to contribute to the integrated design practice. Inspire and Represent: Serve as a local leader to inspire the team, represent healthcare design, and reinforce Stantec’s global brand. Drive Revenue Growth: Sustain and grow revenue within your region and across North America, attracting top-tier clients and achieving top-line growth for the health sector. Achieve Operational Metrics: Collaborate with technical and managerial project leads to meet key operational performance metrics, including financial metrics and improved health outcomes. Lead Business Development: Pursue local and regional business development, including pre-positioning and strategic proposal development, to achieve business and financial goals. Generate and Maintain Work: Act as a seller-doer, generating work, creating long-term relationships, and delivering value to clients. Build Industry Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, competitor/teaming partners, and potential recruits. Contribute to Thought Leadership: Share knowledge and innovation stories at key client engagements, industry events, and across professional networks to enhance Stantec’s brand. Mentor and Coach: Mentor and coach the next generation of designers and thought leaders, while also receiving mentoring from established team members. Your Capabilities and Credentials Healthcare Experience: Recent experience in healthcare with a focus on specialty areas such as Acute Care, Outpatient Care, Women’s Health, Behavioral Health/Mental Health, Cancer Care projects. Project Delivery Innovations: Expertise in project delivery innovations, including IPD, Alternate Project Delivery (APD), Modular approaches, and related advancements. Design and Planning Leadership: Demonstrated acumen and leadership in design and planning on large, complex projects. Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead project teams across various healthcare project types and scales, balancing a book of business effectively. Technical Expertise: In-depth technical understanding of architecture for health facilities, with direct design experience in functional programming, site selection, core and shell, fit-out, and/or interior design. Strategic Pre-Positioning: Experience with strategic pre-positioning for pursuits, including engagement strategies, responding to Expressions of Interest, Statements of Qualifications, Requests for Proposals, formal interviews, and professional fee and contract negotiations. Business Development Skills: Strong business development skills, with significant experience in developing and maintaining productive client relationships. Capable of generating work and creating long-term value for clients. Entrepreneurial Orientation: Strong understanding of the business development challenges faced by consulting-services providers. Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Organizational and Leadership Skills: Exceptional organization, coordination, leadership, team-building, and team engagement talents. Market Assessment and Business Planning: Knowledge of market assessment techniques and insights, with the ability to create aspirational and achievable business plans. Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Education and Experience Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or equivalent HCAI / OSHPD experience Licensed Architect in the state of California 15+ years of experience in the AEC industry

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Additional Information Salary Range(s): Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s): Location Description: Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC) Min Pay Range: CA Other Areas $128,200 Max Pay Range: CA Other Areas $192,200 Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
