Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support and care to our patients, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to follow directions and report back to the charge nurse.
ResponsibilitiesAttend meetings, orientation, and trainings as directed by the charge nurse and management.Clean and tidy rooms, ensuring all areas and items are maintained every shift and labeled as per policy.Serve meals in a timely fashion and report any changes in dietary intake to the Charge Nurse.Answer call bells promptly as soon as they are observed.Ensure safety at all times by practicing prevention through observation and correction of environmental problems and using protective devices properly.Follow emergency, fire, and disaster procedures as taught.Report any items that need to be ordered, repaired, or are missing to the Charge Nurse.Document care provided on the appropriate forms during and at the end of each shift.Essential SkillsMedical terminologyCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification from an accredited program6 months of experience working in a similar settingHigh customer service and communication skillsAbility to follow directions and report back to the charge nurseHigh attention to detail and patienceComputer skills (Microsoft)Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or its equivalentWork Environment
Located in Northern Manhattan, our facility is a 705-capacity rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility with a mission to provide quality care through diverse programs and services designed to support health and independence for individuals needing short or long-term care. We accept only agency staff who can commit to a minimum of 3 days per week with an every other weekend schedule. Weekends are defined as Saturday and Sunday. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Available shifts include: Day (7:30 am - 3:30 pm), Evening (3:30 pm - 11:30 pm), and Night (11:30 pm - 7:30 am). The first week includes classroom training from 9 am to 5 pm for the first three days, with the fourth day ideally starting buddying based on the shift they are working. Benefits include a sign-on bonus or student loan forgiveness once a permanent employee, 403b and employer-paid pension, and a union position once converted to a permanent employee.
