Job Summary
*This is an on-site position
This position directs and oversees healthy living program development and operations in conjunction with YMCA of Greater Seattle . This position will serve on an engaging and dynamic team, playing a key role in ensuring planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum around whole person health provided to the participants.

Hiring Range: $77,970 - $78,250/annually DOE
Responsibilities
+ Directs and manages the development, operations, and growth of assigned program area(s), which include but are not limited to the overall member experience on their health and wellness journey to include group fitness, small group training, personal training, chronic wellness initiatives and adult sports .
+ Establishes new program activities and expands program(s) within the community in accordance with the Association and branch strategic plans t o create pathways for members to be successful in reaching their goals.
+ Develops and manages the budgets related to the position , m eets fiscal objectives , c losely monitors revenue and expense for small group training, personal training, and chronic wellness initiatives.
+ Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates and supervises assigned staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Provides development and leadership.
+ Compiles program statistics and provides data and reports as required for assigned program(s). Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program(s).
+ Provides leadership and support for branch management team, annual fund-raising campaign, and volunteer committees/boards as assigned.
+ Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and agencies related to assigned programs.
+ Distributes program information necessary to promote assigned programs in accordance with branch marketing plans.
+ Ensures that safety procedures are followed and that all programs follow YMCA standards, all regulations, and other applicable standards.
+ Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development evaluations and ongoing training of staff.
+ Ensures upkeep of related facilities and equipment.
+ Teaches and leads a variety of group workouts or personal training clients.
+ Responsible for creating the environment and culture on the wellness floor and through our healthy living programs to create a welcoming environment reaching the new exercisers to the already fit.
+ Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. As well as demonstrates a thorough knowledge of wellness equipment and tools .
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. This position requires a much higher level of lifting and physical demands based on needing to teach etc .
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days may change depending on the class times, and program needs , evening and weekend work is required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL
This is an onsite position with occasion travel to other branches or association programs within the service area .

Qualifications
You are 21 years of age or older and should have a:
+ Bachelor's degree in program area or related field or equivalent education/experience.
+ Group exercise and/or personal training experience and certifications necessary . Certifications can include Group exercise and/or YMCA strength and conditioning, ACE, NASM, ACSM personal training certification .
+ Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
+ Five or more years of related experience including staff and volunteer supervision, community program development, financial management and fund raising.
+ Broad knowledge of assigned program area(s) and the standards and regulations related to the programming.
+ Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
+ CPR and First Aid certifications. *
+ Health coach certification.
+ Five or more years of related experience including staff and volunteer supervision, community program development, financial management and fund raising in a fitness/ wellness program .
+ Experience in working with the health seeker market preferred. Proven experience in training others. Ability to provide Total Health program in community/corporate setting.
+ Experience in membership, marketing and/or sales with the health seeker market.

+ Listen First Level I* and II** training
+ Facilitating Groups training***
+ Coaching With Care training***
+ Supervisor Certificate Series***
+ Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
+ Ability to speak any language in addition to English.

***Within 18-24 months of employment.
