Job Duties & Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance Conduct routine maintenance on kitchen and bar equipment, including but not limited to ovens, fryers, dishwashers, refrigeration units, ice machines, andbeverage dispensers. Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, completed tasks, and equipment performance metrics. Ensure all equipment operates according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Repairs & Troubleshooting Identify and diagnose equipment issues, performing minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Coordinate with the Food & Beverage Asset Manager to prioritize repair tasks and maintain operational continuity. Work with store-level GMs and Chefs to ensure repairs and schedules provide the maximum benefit for minimum interruption to restaurant operations. Escalate major repair needs to external contractors and facilitate repair processes. Inventory & Supplies Management Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance and repairs. Order replacement parts and supplies as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Compliance & Safety Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding kitchen equipment safety and sanitation. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other workplace safety standards. Train staff on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting techniques as needed. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with the culinary and FOH teams to identify equipment needs and address concerns. Track and record important equipment information and repairs done to equipment. Collaborate with Food & Beverage Asset Manager in evaluating the viability and expected lifespan of existing equipment. Provide regular updates to the Food & Beverage Asset Manager and The Executive Chef regarding equipment status, maintenance progress, and any challenges encountered. Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification in a relevant field is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in kitchen equipment maintenance or a related field. Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen and bar equipment, including troubleshooting and repair techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills for maintaining digital records and communicating via email. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast paced environment.Working Conditions
Primarily works in a restaurant kitchen and bar environment. May be exposed to hot or cold temperatures, noise, and equipment-related hazards. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and/or reach for up to 90% of shift. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 50lbs. Flexible schedule, including availability for emergency calls during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
