When hospitals cannot provide the advanced care, expertise and new treatment options their patients require, they turn to us. *Job Summary:* Hartford HealthCare’s Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI) is rapidly growing, with the anticipation of further expansions and programmatic development across the state and beyond. Reporting to the Director of Specialty Programs, Heart & Vascular Institute, the HVI Research Manager is responsible for management and oversight of HVI Research, including clinical research trials management. Serves in a key administrative lead role, partnering with the Institute’s physician leaders and administrative staff to establish a standard for research across the Heart & Vascular Institute. Develops policies and procedures for optimal standardization, integration, growth and quality across the system. Successfully lead teams of physicians, administrative leaders and staff across multiple sites and work in a collaborative style to achieve Heart & Vascular Institute goals. Serves as a liaison to Hartford Hospital Research Department. *Job Responsibilities:* 1. Manages and develops all Research coordinators and research assistants who are assigned to HVI trials. 2. Develops and implements new policies/practices/standard work for research coordinators, research assistants, and investigators for enhanced clinical trials management. 3. Provides leadership, training, coaching and mentoring for all research coordinators and research assistants who are assigned to HVI trials. 4. Effectively communicates clear performance expectations, monitors progress and makes appropriate adjustments. 5. Assist all coordinators to connect and integrate with clinical teams involved in each study by attending pertinent daily huddles, weekly calls (i.e., TAVR meeting, Mitral meeting, LAAO meeting, CHIP meeting, etc.) to increase visibility and enrollment. 6. Serves as primary point of contact for any HVI Investigator or Sponsor requesting new trial participation and provides updates on trial status, coordinator availability, completion of feasibility surveys and site initiation visits. 7. Demonstrates visibility and builds trust among all research team members and with external partners. 8. Maintain and distribute weekly HVI Clinical Trial data spreadsheets summarizing all operational data for both enrolling and follow-up trials, including projected and current enrollment and revenue received to-date. Also to include regulatory status of trials in discussion, IRB status, studies closed to enrollment. 9. Assist in organizing/providing trial educational offerings to OR staff, Cath Lab, ICU, etc., as needed. 10. Assist all HVI coordinators with screening mechanisms to increase enrollment, problem solving for low enrollment, and development of back-up strategies for each study in the event of a coordinator’s absence. 11. Attend all HVI Research Council meetings to review each department’s progress, including updates on enrollment/revenue/trial status from the Clinical Trial spreadsheet. 12. Continually review any trials that are not enrolling or under-enrolling for the purpose of collectively deciding whether a clinical trial should be discontinued. 13. Prepare any documents that are needed to advertise trials (i.e. inclusion/exclusion criteria, contact details, etc.) for referring physicians and interested patients, HHC Research Website, social media, HVI SharePoint and for distribution at multiple meetings across the HVI (e.g., Cardiovascular Symposium, Annual educational conferences, etc.). 14. Serves as a liaison to Harford Hospital Research Department. 15. Collaborates with Hartford Hospital Research Manager for study builds, budget negotiations, and regulatory issues. 16. Partner with physician and administrative leaders to develop, implement, and expand HVI research across regions and practices. 17. Partner with physician and administrative leaders to expand the Heart & Vascular Institute Research Program for enhanced clinical research trial management. 18. Participate in strategic, short range and long-range planning for the Heart & Vascular Institute Research program. 19. Serves on HVI and HHC committees as requested. 20. Complete other duties as assigned. • Bachelor’s degree in health care field required or relevant experience, Masters-level completion in health care related field preferred. • Five (5) years research experience • Current CT RN license if an RN • Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) We take great care of careers.
