Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent GED.  Minimum one year of manufacturing experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk quickly, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear in a load and hot environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Pay

$18 - $21/ hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Summary 

Requires specific knowledge of general heat treat requirements for aluminum, titanium, nickel based alloys, stainless, and alloy steels. Must be familiar with Heat Treat scheduling to ensure proper sequence for product through heat treating. Must be familiar with the operation, adjustment and routine maintenance of all furnace controllers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Under the direction of an operator will batch loads for optimum productivity. Interpret hardness rating utilizing measuring tools and standards. Places work piece into a heating furnace for a specified period of time. Will be responsible for Hardness testing, utilizing specific calibrated hardness testing equipment. Must have understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions. Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures. Will be trained and under guidance will set thermal couple, prepare load per optimal heat distribution of load. Unload furnaces.  Responsible for heat treat and process furnace accuracy and uniformity surveys. Ability to move parts on and off pallets.
