The Facility Management mission is to provide a safe and clean environment by planning and delivering professional services, which are sustainable and supported now and in the future. The Facility Management HVAC program supports this in the performance of maintenance, repairs and installation of heating and air conditioning systems throughout Austin Water Utility facilities. We utilize industry best practices to ensure equipment is operating at peak performances to minimize emergency call back repairs and maintain optimal indoor air quality.

Driving Requirements:

This position requires a Valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months. This position will be required to travel and report to other Austin Water worksites.

1. Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, ice machines, and other equipment.
2. Assists with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and performing start-up of building automation system network devices and components.
3. Installs heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation equipment and systems.
4. Calibrates and services thermostats.
5. Performs basic service on HVAC equipment including pumps, air handlers, cooling towers, and other mechanical systems.
6. Reads and interprets profiles and blue prints.
7. Maintains appropriate records.
8. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
