Heavy-Civil Superintendent

Position Overview: The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy-civil (highway and marine) construction projects primarily in North New Jersey, ensuring that work is performed according to project plans, specifications and schedules. The Superintendent is also responsible for managing the project budget, workforce, equipment, and relationships with subcontractors and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate construction projects, including contract plans, specifications, and scheduleDevelops strategies for achieving cost, schedule, and quality objectivesSupervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors, field personnel, and other staffMaintain accurate records of construction activitiesEnsure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and codesEnforce safety protocols and proceduresResolve issues and conflicts that arise onsiteServe as a liaison between leadership, project teams, and other stakeholdersSolve problems and respond quickly and effectively to changing situationsDevelop and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors and other stakeholders

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field5+ years of experience in construction, including marine construction and heavy highway constructionStrong knowledge of construction procedures and techniquesExcellent project management, budget management, and workforce management skillsStrong problem-solving and relationship management skillsSolid understanding of safety protocols and public relations
