**Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic** **Job Description** + We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team + The ideal candidate will provide technical services in the areas of heavy equipment repair, support in the assembly, fabrication, repair, and assist Government engineers and technicians in the design and development of military, commercial, and construction vehicles, as well as vehicle prototype platforms **Responsibilities** + Fabricate, weld, repair, and prototype military vehicles + Perform preventative maintenance on ground vehicles including tires, fluids, etc. + Conduct heavy repairs on diesel and gasoline engines, automatic transmissions, drive systems, steering, suspension, brakes, electronics, and heating/air conditioning systems + Document repairs or installations of new systems and their impact on vehicle performance + Identify any changes to vehicle performance resulting from repairs or new system installations + Provide technical services for system integration requiring knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, mechanics, fabrication, assembly, physical prototyping, analysis, troubleshooting, and integration of new systems + Tear down and build up vehicles and heavy equipment **Essential Skills** + Experience in the major areas of heavy-duty vehicle systems and repairs including diesel and gasoline engines, automatic transmissions, drive systems, steering, suspension, brakes, electronics, and heating/air conditioning systems + Expertise in heavy equipment repair and vehicle fabrication + Proficiency in TIG welding + Strong electrical troubleshooting skills + Knowledge of prototype vehicle development **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $33.00/hr.
