Job Title: Heavy Duty MechanicJob DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team The ideal candidate will provide technical services in the areas of heavy equipment repair, support in the assembly, fabrication, repair, and assist Government engineers and technicians in the design and development of military, commercial, and construction vehicles, as well as vehicle prototype platformsResponsibilitiesFabricate, weld, repair, and prototype military vehiclesPerform preventative maintenance on ground vehicles including tires, fluids, etc.Conduct heavy repairs on diesel and gasoline engines, automatic transmissions, drive systems, steering, suspension, brakes, electronics, and heating/air conditioning systemsDocument repairs or installations of new systems and their impact on vehicle performanceIdentify any changes to vehicle performance resulting from repairs or new system installationsProvide technical services for system integration requiring knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, mechanics, fabrication, assembly, physical prototyping, analysis, troubleshooting, and integration of new systemsTear down and build up vehicles and heavy equipmentEssential SkillsExperience in the major areas of heavy-duty vehicle systems and repairs including diesel and gasoline engines, automatic transmissions, drive systems, steering, suspension, brakes, electronics, and heating/air conditioning systemsExpertise in heavy equipment repair and vehicle fabricationProficiency in TIG weldingStrong electrical troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of prototype vehicle developmentPay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $33.00/hr.
