Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician
The Field Service Technician will repair and service Morbark and Customer owned industrial chipping equipment, grinders, forestry mowers, stump grinder and hand fed brush chippers. Candidate will be responsible for inspection and evaluation of machines. Position will report to our Service Manager. **Essential Functions of the Job:** + Assist Dealer and Customers with diagnosing and resolving Service issues. + Assist Customer in achieving designed output of their Morbark equipment. + Teach Customer preventative maintenance to improve up-time on their Morbark equipment. + Travel to equipment to repair, Complete job reports as required. + Keep up to date on Product Improvements Morbark, Rayco, and Denis Cimaf equipment. + Assist Morbark Warranty Department with service information & warranty administration. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):** + Electrical system diagnostic & trouble shooting skills. + Mechanical & drivetrain system diagnostic & trouble shooting skills. + Hydraulic system diagnostic & trouble shooting skills. + Diesel engine diagnostic & trouble shooting skills. + Welding skills. + Operate in professional manner and appearance. + Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents. + Strong communication skills both verbal and written. + Work on projects independently. + Possess strong, clear and effective verbal and written communication skills. + Exhibits strong organizational skills and pays close attention to detail. + Possess solid problem-solving and analytical abilities. + Must be multitask oriented, organized, able to set priorities, and meet deadlines. + Must be able to travel 75% of the time. + Previous work experience as a heavy equipment field service technician is required. **Education and Experience:** + High School Diploma or GED required. + Must have valid chauffeur’s driver’s license and a clean driving record. + Valid passport (a plus). + Post-secondary certificate or degree in engineering OR training as a mechanic (a plus). + 2 to 5 years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair. This position requires working indoors and at customer work sites in various weather conditions. Physical demands include lifting heavy objects, crawling, bending, and kneeling.
