The main objective of the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist is to perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on heavy mobile equipment.  This work is vital for maintaining the safety and reliability of valuable assets used in the mining process.  Essential Functions Perform detailed inspections of equipment and document current or potential problemsComplete preventative maintenance tasks including lubricationMaintain work and oil and parts storage areas in a clean, safe conditionMaintain inventories of parts and supplies used for preventative maintenanceProperly dispose of used fluids and other wastesPerform minor repairs or other work as neededParticipate in the planning of future work Competencies Prior relevant experience with the routine care of heavy mobile equipment. This role frequently operates heavy equipment. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
