**Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic** ****Aerotek is immediately interviewing and hiring for a heavy equipment mechanic right in Syracuse, NY!**** **Pay: $25.00 - $30.00** **Shift: 1st shift M-F 6am - 4:30pm** **Job Description** The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and other mechanical duties set forth by the Shop Foreman, all while maintaining a safe working environment and staying within quality standards. JOB DUTIES: - Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment, tractor trailers, and trailers, while maintaining service records. - Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, and repair/replace damaged or worn parts. - Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs. - Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency. - Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies, such as transmissions and crawler heads, using hand tools, jacks, and cranes. - Assemble gear systems and align frames and gears. - Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. - Fabricate needed parts or items from sheet metal. - Weld or solder broken parts and structural members. - Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications. - Direct workers who are assembling or disassembling equipment or cleaning parts. - Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools. **Hard Skills** + 5+ years' experience in Heavy Equipment/Heavy Truck repair and maintenance + CDL B **Job Type** This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in Syracuse, New York. **If you're interested please apply and I will reach out directly ASAP!** **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
