Heavy Equipment Mechanic
**Heavy Equipment Mechanic** Pay Rate - $25 - $35/hr. **Job Description** Reporting to the Service Manager, a Service Technician performs mechanical maintenance and assembly adjustments on heavy construction equipment, lift trucks, road construction and aggregate machinery, or quarry mining equipment. The qualified service technician possesses hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting capability, is punctual and maintains a professional and respectful demeanor with both staff and customers. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position and work is performed both in the shop and out in the field under varying temperatures and weather-related conditions. Typical shop hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM but may vary by location. Technicians must be flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed to meet customer’s needs. **Responsibilities** + Perform mechanical maintenance and assembly adjustments on heavy construction equipment, lift trucks, road construction and aggregate machinery, or quarry mining equipment. + Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical issues. + Ensure punctuality and maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with both staff and customers. + Work both in the shop and out in the field under varying temperatures and weather-related conditions. + Be flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed to meet customer’s needs. **Essential Skills** + Vocational Training or 2+ years of experience performing heavy machinery mechanical services (Volvo, Roadtec, brands preferred). + 2+ years of hydraulic, electrical, and heavy construction equipment experience. + Proficiency using heavy machinery diagnostics equipment. + Must have own set of tools. + Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening. + Possess or obtain Class B CDL license within first 60 days of employment. + Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds without assistance. + Ability to sit, stand, twist, squat, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull on a daily basis. + Must be able to work indoors or outdoors under a variety of temperatures and weather conditions. **Why Work Here?** We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, prescription, HSA, dental, and vision with buy-up plans for dental and vision.
