Heavy Equipment Operators will support scheduled and unscheduled paved surfaces and large plant removal work. Heavy Equipment Operators will use dump trucks, backhoes, loaders when required to maintain grounds maintenance tasks. Maintain grounds maintenance tasks as assigned.

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Operate dump trucks and street sweepers. Use loaders and backhoes to maintain trash at the fence line, remove trash/debris from buildings/site or removing any sticks, branches, grass or debris. Inspect emergency overflows. Use of high reach to assist with tree limb removal. Haul pallets, debris, trash to landfill. Ensure the mouths of ditches/inlets and outlets should be cleared of sediment, vegetation and debris. Replace soil or gravel that has been moved from the cleanups with new soil or gravel. Repair work may include grading, adding topsoil, filling holes and reseeding. Carry out a varied range of gardening duties and hand tools, horticultural machinery and power tools such as lawn mowers, string trimmers and hedge cutters. Removes unsightly trash and debris from the grounds by regularly inspecting the grounds, remove snow and ice from walkways by using salt spreaders, shovels, shovels, tractors, and snow blowers. Comfortable working in all weather and seasons. Will maintain improved and semi-improved grounds. Other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.

Payrate: $22.69 Hourly
