**Job Description:** Gulf Stream is one of Charleston's largest civil site contractors. Their parent company is the Beach Co. (Largest Land Developer in Charleston). They only perform work in the Greater Charleston Area and travel is limited to the Lowcountry. Gulf Stream is in need of Heavy Equipment Operators for a variety of different civil site work locations. Duties include operating heavy equipment, fine grading/rough grading, laying pipe, digging holes, cleaning the construction site and other general labor functions when necessary. Operator responsibilities include grading, installing pipe, trenching, digging, slope work, and moving material. All qualified candidates must have at least 1 year of construction experience. Pieces of equipment include: Motor Grader, Dozer, Excavator, Front End Loader, Backhoe, Roller, Scrappers, Skidsteer, Off-Road Truck, etc. **Key Responsibilities:** + Operate curb machines and rovers with GPS systems to perform precise site work construction tasks. + Interpret and follow construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes. + Ensure accurate and precise work by utilizing GPS technology and other equipment. + Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on the job site. + Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to equipment operation. + Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. **Qualifications:** + Must have at least 1+ years of construction experience + Heavy Equipment (Dozers, Excavators, Track Hoe, Back Hoe, Graders, Front End Loaders, Skid Steer, Roller, Off Road Trucks, etc) + Fine grading experience is highly preferred + GPS experience preferred + Flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends + Candidates familiar with working outside in hot/cold weather conditions and in the elements + Candidates okay and welcoming overtime + Candidate must be at work and on time for each shift – Attendance is very important + Reliable form of transportation to get to and from work **Performance Expectations:** + Must be at work and on time for each scheduled shift – 15 mins early is the ideal + Will report to a Site Superintendent/Foreman on a daily basis and willing to help to get the job done. + Missing work is a poor reflection of a candidate's commitment. **Benefits:** + Competitive salary starting at $20+ per hour + Health, dental, and vision insurance + Retirement plan + Paid time off + Opportunities for professional development and advancement **Additional Information:** + This person might be asked to work weekends.
