**Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This role involves operating various heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, and pay loaders. The ideal candidate will have experience in general labor within the construction industry, particularly in grading and rolling tasks. **Responsibilities** + Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, and dump trucks. + Perform grading and rolling tasks using a bulldozer. + Conduct general labor tasks as needed on the construction site. + Monitor conveyor belts and sort out metal and plastic debris from crushed stone. + Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery. + Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient and effective operation of equipment. **Essential Skills** + Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and dump trucks. + Strong understanding of construction labor tasks. + Ability to perform grading and rolling using a bulldozer. + Experience with pay loaders and skid steers. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in general labor within the construction industry. + Knowledge of sorting and recycling demolition debris is a plus. **Why Work Here?** This is a union-based opportunity after six months, offering a great culture and extremely stable long-term job with prospects of continuing for another 15 years. The quarry is now used for sorting and recycling demolition debris and is expected to be repurposed for future development, including new neighborhoods, a town hall, police barracks, and a park. The current project is expected to be completed by 2055. The work environment includes multiple quarry crusher machines, and the role involves monitoring conveyor belts and sorting debris. The team is supported by an internal office staff consisting of administrative staff, project managers, a sales representative, and an environmental engineer. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Prospect Park, New Jersey. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
