Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description: 

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. You will operate heavy machinery on commercial construction sites to install underground utilities. Your main tasks include digging trenches, laying pipes, backfilling trenches, and cutting and grading the ground. You will also help with other tasks as needed, such as digging with shovels and laying pipes manually.

Responsibilities: 

- Operate machines like excavators, loaders, and skid steers.

- Dig trenches, lay pipes, backfill trenches, and cut and grade the ground.

- Help with all construction tasks as needed.

- Cut grades accurately to within 0.10'.

- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

- Use levels and lasers to measure grades.

- Excavate trenches up to 25' deep for underground utilities.

- Work safely around utilities and other workers.

Essential Skills: 

- 5 years of experience with excavators in mainline utilities, dirt work, and grading.

- Experience with loaders and articulated tractors.

- Ability to operate excavators, loaders, and skid steers.

- Ability to read blueprints and specifications.

- Skill in using levels and lasers to measure grades.

Additional Skills & Qualifications: 

- Class A or B license is a plus.

- Reliable, dependable, and punctual.

- Willing to learn and work as part of a team.

- Willingness to get out of the equipment and do hands-on work.

Work Environment: 

You will work on commercial construction sites mainly from Castle Rock to Pueblo, with potential projects in Rocky Ford, Golden, and Buckley Airforce Base. Our usual schedule is 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, but currently, we work 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Saturday, aiming for 45-50 hours a week to catch up on weather delays. Our work focuses on civil construction and excavation.

Job Type & Location: 

This is a permanent position based out of Calhan, Colorado.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Most benefits offered below start at the employee's 90 day employment date.

Primary Care benefit - (not health insurance, no major medical - covers primary care only) $79/month per person. The employee coverage is paid by Global CM after one year of service. Employees must pay for any dependents.
Life Insurance - term/$150,000 - paid by Global CM.
Retirement - offered through the Colorado SecureSavings program, 5% of gross wages, no company match.
Vacation - one week paid after 1 year of service. two weeks after 2 years of service.
Paid holidays - Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day.
Sick Time - effective upon employment, Colorado standards - 1 hour for every 30 worked, up to a max of 48 hours/year. No carry over.
