Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

We are currently developing 1,100 acres into a small town, which includes a school, fire station, park, sports complex, and more. We are in phase 1 of 3, focusing on grading the site. We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator with a minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation to join our team.

ResponsibilitiesOperate mobile heavy equipment of various sizes and types such as backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, compactors, trenchers, scrapers, loaders, and more.Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.Excavate around existing utilities, both above and below the ground, in a safe manner.Dig slopes when needed.Set up and put away job equipment.Perform minor daily maintenance of equipment.Hand dig around existing utilities when necessary.Carry and load materials to be used on the job.Follow all company safety policies and practices.Report any equipment repairs needed to the Equipment Manager.Essential SkillsGood verbal communication skills.Valid driver’s license.2+ years of relevant experience.Knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles.Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience grading for tract homes.Capability to operate any of the following equipment: Compactor (CAT 815F), Motor Grader, Scraper, Excavator, Wheel Loader, Skid Steer.Compactor operation is a priority.Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are crucial.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:30 or 5:30 PM, depending on sunlight, with Saturday overtime offered. The work environment is family-oriented with a focus on turning rolling hills into a small town. Employees must be able to endure the daily activity involved with the job and able to work in all weather conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Van Nuys, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
