Description

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently performing cross-functional duties in safety, plant maintenance, production, and equipment operation. This is a full-time seasonal Non-union position.Essential Functions        Performs preventative and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment, including cutting and welding under the guidance of the Plant Manager and Leadperson or other designated personnel.       Performs daily pre/post-shift inspections on equipment and maintains maintenance logs.     Uses of hand tools, shovels, etc. and operates a skid steer, front end loader, and other as needed tools to clean around plant equipment, maintain roadways, travel ways and parking areas and perform general plant maintenance.      Participates in plant operations including production, loading, and shipping, and quality control.      Maintains good housekeeping in areas of responsibility and safe traffic flow throughout the site.      Operates plant-specific mobile equipment in a safe manner as needed.      Aides in the training of co-workers as needed.      Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.      Participates in Monthly Safety Observations, Suggestions, Safety Meeting/ Training all while taking part in the Martin Marietta Safety Culture.Competencies        Safety AcumenTeamworkMotivationIntegrityResults-DrivenCommitment to ExcellenceWork Environment        
This position operates 100% of the time in an outdoor surface aggregate granite quarry setting at Yellow Medicine Quarry located in Granite Falls, MN (southwest MN)        
        
Physical Demands        
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.     
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that regularly requires Monday – Friday and some weekend work.  Average work week is 55 to 60 hours per week March – November.       Required Education and Experience       High school diploma or equivalent. Must hold a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.    3 to 5 years of operating experienceAdditional Eligibility Qualifications        Must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated.Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives.Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.Willing to cross-train in different areas of production and general operations.Willing to travel to various work locations if the need arises within our Martin Marietta family.Other Duties

Salary Posting:

We are excited to share the base range for this position is $27.30 - $37.80, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity. In addition to our base compensation, we also offer a competitive benefits package for full time employees (more information on benefits listed below).
