Heavy Equipment Operator
**Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator** **Job Description** The Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) will support remediation work that includes construction tasks such as clearing and grubbing, installation of erosion control materials, soil excavation, grading, dewatering, backfilling, truck scaling, equipment decontamination, and restoration efforts. The operator's primary role is to operate construction equipment (Excavator, Backhoe/Loader, Dozer, Skid-Steer, and Roller Compactor) to carry out these projects. Equipment operation will constitute 75% of the job, with the remaining 25% involving general labor tasks. **Responsibilities** + Operate construction equipment such as Excavator, Backhoe/Loader, Dozer, Skid-Steer, and Roller Compactor. + Perform construction tasks including clearing and grubbing, installation of erosion control materials, soil excavation, grading, dewatering, backfilling, truck scaling, equipment decontamination, and restoration efforts. + Assist with general labor tasks when not operating equipment. + Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently. + Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good working condition. **Essential Skills** + 6+ years of experience operating heavy equipment (excavator, dozer, backhoe, bobcat, roller, and/or compactor). + Previous construction/civil experience working outdoors moving dirt. + Willingness to travel 75% of the time. + Ability to work in various weather conditions. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 40-Hour Hazwoper certification (preferred but not required). + Environmental experience. **If you are interested in the opportunity, please apply!** **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
