Heavy Equipment Operator\/Laborer

We now have a national and international presence spanning coast to coast, including U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and now, Puerto Rico. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.\n

We are seeking a qualified Equipment Operator\/ Laborer to join our Electrical Self-Perform team for construction projects based in Aguadilla Puerto Rico.\n

SUMMARY:\n

This position is primarily responsible for helping the electricians by performing duties requiring less skill. However, this position may also assist other craft workers in their duties, operate equipment, while also cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, setting braces for support, erecting scaffolding, cleaning up rubble and debris, and removing other non-hazardous waste materials. This is all to be done using the appropriate equipment and implementing the required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.\n

Pay $15.00 - $20.00PH, DOE Prevailing Wage\n

Compensation is based on specific project location AND WILL FOLLOW DAVIS BACON PREVAILING WAGE REQUIREMENTS, WHICH VARY FROM MILITARY BASE TO MILITARY BASE. The hourly range is the hourly range is approximately $15.00 - 20.00hr, eligible for overtime.\n\nA high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education for this position.\n\n

Two or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience as an Operator in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting is required; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred.\n\nCPR and First Aid Certifications required; Specific training or certificates in the following preferred:\n

- Trenching and shoring training\n

- Fall protection training- Confined space training\n

- Forklift\/Manlift training and certificate\n

- Lockout\/Tagout training\n

- Scissor lift\/boom lift certificate\n

- EM-385\n

- OSHA 30-hour\n

- OSHA 10-hour\n\n\n

Ability to provide the tools (preferred, not required), including, but not limited to knife, pliers\/linemen, screwdrivers, nut drivers, key hole saw, hacksaw, hammer, level (small 12\"), channel locks 2, needle nose pliers\/long nose pliers, diagonal pliers, Allen wrenches\/stranded\/metric, taps (6\/32, 8\/32, 10\/24, socket set, tape measure (at least 25 ft.), side cutters, flashlight, cordless drill\/impact drill, wrench set, crescent wrench.\n\n\n
