Transdev is hiring for a Heavy Equipment/ Truck Technician in Elkton, MD!Job Purpose: This position will perform routine and some non-routine maintenance and repair work on vehicles (buses, vans etc.) which adheres to Transdev standards. This may include but is not limited to tire maintenance, fulfilling service calls for repair, conducting visual inspections of vehicles and related work as assigned. Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles more advanced issues and problems and may refer more complex issues to higher-level staff. All work is performed with a commitment to safety. May mentor or provide informal guidance to Technician I. Transdev is proud to offer:  Competitive compensation package of $27.00 - 35.00 / hourComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance offeringsRetirement savings (401K) planPaid time off and sick daysOpportunities for professional growth and advancementResponsibilities: Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers by performing limited repairs with moderate supervision on basic and advanced maintenance such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, check fluid levels, change fluids and filters and lubricate components.Perform mechanical repairs under moderate supervision including the repair of brakes and brake inspections, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used. Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain parts usage records and order repair parts from designated suppliersAssist Tech III with preventative maintenance (PM’s), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usageDiagnoses and performs accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under moderate supervision.Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action takenEvaluates completed work prior to release and seeks approval where requiredAssist with road calls and emergency services as necessaryAdhere to Transdev standards, policies and proceduresMoves vehicles safely between job and work areaRepair and maintain all shop equipmentCleans vehicles as requested or requiredOther responsibility as requested or required*When applying, be sure to upload a resume, or input at least 3+ years of employment history. Applications submitted without providing sufficient information may not be considered. Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire)State inspection license (if required)ASE Certification preferred.
