**Job Title: Mechanical Assembler**
**Job Description**
The Mechanical Assembler will perform manual labor within a production line, assembling industrial air compressor products, associated parts, and accessories, and packing products according to specifications.
**Responsibilities**
+ Work as part of a production team to assemble industrial air compressor products and parts.
+ Follow specific work instructions, documentation, and training for the area.
+ Pick up, move, and sort small and large parts.
+ Use mechanic tools, basic hand tools, pneumatic and pipe installation tools, and jigs to manipulate parts for assembly.
+ Sort and place material or items on tables, racks, or bins.
+ Assemble small and large parts manually per specifications.
+ Align mating parts, perform rotational alignments, and pressure tests.
+ Install switches, panels, and lights; cut and make up conduit as directed.
+ Construct controllers and panels, using power drills, drill presses, taps, saws, and punches.
+ Remove extraneous material from molded parts.
+ Clean assembled parts and place them in protective bags or containers.
+ Help maintain accurate inventory of goods.
+ Assume responsibility for quality control, rejecting products outside specifications.
+ Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
+ Keep workstation organized; properly store parts, tools, test equipment, and documentation.
+ Keep area clean and walkways clear.
+ Follow safety procedures, environmental guidelines, and company rules and regulations.
+ Participate in quality improvement efforts.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
**Essential Skills**
+ 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience
+ 2+ years of experience with hand and power tools
+ Ability to lift 50 lbs
+ Ability to stand for 8 hours
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with assembly, hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly

**Work Environment**
Work in a non-climate controlled environment with large fans and open areas. The standard shift is from 6 am to 2:30 pm, with occasional extensions to 4:30 pm some weeks.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.
