As the Helicopter Programs Lifecycle Engineer, you will be responsible for executing investigations into in-service events for the M250, RR300 and CTS800 engines.  This includes collecting and analyzing data and event descriptions provided by field service reps and operators. You will also coordinate efforts of design, performance, controls, and metallurgical engineers, determining root cause and corrective action, and providing technical information to program management, field service reps, operators, and OEMs.  You will be responsible for the complete Red Top process, assisting Air Safety Investigation as needed during initial investigation, coordinating numerical risk assessment, identifying containment actions, determining root cause, and drafting closure documents. Supporting publication of CEBs will be part of your responsibilities along with providing input into Technical Variances approvals and identifying service-related product improvements.  Reports to:  Technical Lead – Lifecycle and Safety for T56/Helicopters.

Key Accountabilities:

Lead investigations into and identify root cause and corrective action for in-service eventsLead Red Top closure process for specific helicopter engine investigationsLead internal activities to resolve operator or Field Service Representative technical inquiriesDefine and implement containment programs and corrective actions necessary to maintain continued safe operation of the productInitiate Service Bulletins to support operators, OEM’s, and AMC’s (Authorized Maintenance Center)Initiate design changes required to address specific field events and proceed them through the initial design change gateProactively support improving engine and component reliability utilizing maintenance data from FAST (AMC and on-wing LRU removal data) and trend monitoringCommunicate the status of service issue investigations via technical briefings both internally and to OEM customers, operators, and airworthiness authoritiesDefine and manage budgets for major service-related deficiency investigationsAct as secretary for the Project Product Safety Review Board (PPSRB) and coordinate weekly Red Top meetings

Basic Requirements:

Associate’s degree in engineering with 4+ years of experience, ORBachelor’s degree in engineering with 2+ years of experience, ORMaster’s degree in engineering, ORJD/PhDTo be considered for this role, you must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred Requirements:

Experience with field service or design engineering2+ years of experience in Lifecycle engineeringExperience interfacing with customers on technical program issuesGas turbine engine installation, verification, and performance experience
