Description
The Help Desk Technician provides first-line technical support to end-users of computer systems and peripherals in a Windows environment. This role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support:
Respond to incoming support requests via phone, email, and chat.
Diagnose and troubleshoot common hardware and software issues.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and applications.
Resolve basic network connectivity problems.
Assist users with password resets and account lockout issues.
Provide remote support to users as needed.
Hardware and software support:
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
Install and configure software applications.
Perform basic hardware upgrades and replacements.
Incident management:
Document all support incidents in the ticketing system.
Track and monitor the resolution of support tickets.
Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or engineers as needed.
User training and education:
Provide basic end-user training on computer hardware and software.
Create and maintain knowledge base articles and other documentation.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a help desk or technical support role.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
Experience with common desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Basic understanding of networking concepts.
Experience with remote support tools.
Experience with ticketing systems.
