Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Help Desk Manager in the Higher Education sector, based in Columbia, South Carolina. As a Help Desk Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategy, management, and execution of end-user device services across the organization. This role involves ensuring the seamless deployment, maintenance, security, and lifecycle management of all end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
Responsibilities:
• Develop an overall strategy for end-user device management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and IT strategy.
• Lead a team of device management professionals, providing coaching, development, and performance management.
• Collaborate with other IT leaders to ensure seamless integration of end-user devices with enterprise infrastructure.
• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of all end-user devices, including Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
• Optimize the device lifecycle process, including procurement, deployment, support, and retirement.
• Implement appropriate security measures to ensure compliance with security policies and industry regulations.
• Manage endpoint protection strategies to safeguard against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce secure usage policies for all end-user devices.
• Lead efforts to improve the end-user experience by proactively identifying and resolving device-related issues.
• Analyze and optimize device performance, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
• Establish KPIs and SLAs to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of device management services. Requirements • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Help Desk Manager or similar role in a higher education setting.
• Strong knowledge and working experience with Cisco Technologies, Citrix Technologies, Cloud Technologies, and Dell Technologies.
• Proficiency in ITSM, Active Directory, Computer Hardware, and Configuration Management.
• Expertise in Deployments, Deskside Support, Imaging Devices, and IT Strategy is required.
• Familiarity with Desktop deployment and Microsoft Windows.
• Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective operational strategies and policies.
• Knowledge of higher education industry standards and regulations.
• Proven track record of managing and improving service delivery.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Strong customer service orientation with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving.
