Help Desk Technician

The Helpdesk Technician assists with all functions of User Services.
This position provides effective Tier 2 frontline user support and desktop assistance.
Responsibilities:
* Respond to a variety of support requests in-person or remotely.
* Perform technical troubleshooting.
* Perform software/hardware installs and troubleshoot peripheral and mobile devices.
* Assist in the day-to-day operations of the technology resource center and provide support for notebook repairs, research, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
* Assist in the operation of the Technology Resource Center, and all functions of User Services.
* Initiate, update, and resolve trouble tickets through the call tracking and problem-reporting database and escalates issues that warrant it promptly.
* Configure, install, and support application software.
* Manage and update ITS licenses.
* Prepare and maintain documentation as needed.
* Provides support and training on technology topics.
* Engage in mentorship activities and provides guidance to student employees working within IT services.
* Assume additional responsibilities as may be determined by the Helpdesk Manager or Director of ITS-User Services
Qualifications:
* Prior experience working at a University Helpdesk.
* Bachelors degree
* 2 to 3 years of experience in helpdesk/user support.
* Experience with ITSM and ITIL processes a plus.
* Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills required.
