The Division of Hematology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine is seeking a provider for a full-time faculty position with a specific focus on treating patients with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). This role will help expand our clinical footprint within the Sickle Cell Center of Excellence in Baltimore, Maryland. Clinical leadership opportunities may be available for highly qualified and successful candidates. The position involves collaboration with the Directors of Clinical and Research Operations, along with other Divisional and Departmental leadership, to advance the division's clinical, research, and educational missions. The focus will be on enhancing care for Sickle Cell patients, developing specialized clinical programs, and providing education to post-doctoral fellows, residents, interns, and medical students. Essential Job Functions + Deliver complex medical care to adult patients with Sickle Cell Disease in outpatient settings at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and the Johns Hopkins Hospital campus. + Provide inpatient consultation for Sickle Cell Disease patients at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (approximately 4 weeks per year). + Lead and contribute to the development of clinical programs dedicated to Sickle Cell Disease. + Teach and mentor medical students, residents, interns, and fellows, with opportunities to teach on the general medicine service. + Triage external hospital transfer requests for Sickle Cell Disease patients via the Hopkins Access Line.
