Your Role and Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

Be the go-to expert for technical questions, leveraging your broad knowledge to provide guidance and solutions.Drive the implementation of new tests and instrumentation that enhance department capabilities.Keep operations running smoothly by coordinating with team members and vendors to reduce downtime and maintain quality.Ensure department equipment is calibrated, maintained, and functioning at peak performance.Step in as a hands-on Medical Technologist when needed, maintaining clinical expertise.

Team Supervision:

Assess and recommend optimal staffing to support efficient operations.Guide and mentor team members, promoting career growth and professional development.Champion a collaborative team culture while aligning department goals with company objectives.Manage scheduling, timecard approvals, and leave requests with precision.Lead training initiatives, fostering a learning culture and preparing your team for success.Partner with the Laboratory General Manager on hiring and performance management.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Take charge of accreditation and inspection readiness, ensuring your department is always prepared.Track and develop quality indicators, spearheading process improvement initiatives.Oversee comprehensive training and competency documentation, ensuring CAP requirements are met.

Other Key Contributions:

Embody Interpath’s culture of excellence and dedication to quality.Safeguard patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA policies and regulations.Introduce and manage the adoption of new technologies and innovative procedures.Support budget development and management for the department.Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and take on new challenges.

What You Bring to the Table:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory applications (e.g., EP Evaluator, Unity, QC, DI Data Innovations, Cellavision, InspectionProof)Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill complex information clearly.Keen attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple priorities seamlessly.A motivating leader who excels in coaching and driving team performance.Confident in facilitating meetings and presenting effectively.

Minimum Qualifications Proven success in a leadership or supervisory role within a clinical laboratory setting.Bachelor's degree in Medical or Clinical Laboratory Sciences.ASCP or NCA certification preferred; other recognized certifications will be considered. About Us

General Physical Requirements Ability to perform office tasks that involve sitting, reaching, and bending.Comfortable working at laboratory benches, including standing and manual dexterity tasks.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance as needed.

OSHA Category: This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
