Develop a relationship and begin to assess the academic needs for all first-year students + Promote retention and graduation strategies + Help students transition to college by helping them to understand the rigors of college life – time management, study skills, being prepared, etc. + Help students understand their financial aid obligations. Work with the Associate Director and the office of Student Financial Services to ensure necessary documentation is processed to receive financial aid + Input all contacts into Compass and Banner systems, for record keeping and reporting information used for the final and interim reports to the State Education Department + Track student performance and progress by consulting with students and faculty + Maintain confidential student records + Be familiar with Banner, Compass, ARGOS, SLATE, Xtender, Degree Works, and Microsoft Office-Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Access a plus + Proficient writing skills are necessary + Assist with the development and implementation of the student success plan + Help students to develop skills and the understanding needed to monitor their own academic progress and to plan their own course of study + Integrate academic advisement with career services + Link students to faculty within their major + Ensure tutoring services are provided (via the Learning Center / CAEI and HEOP tutors) as needed on Dobbs Ferry, Bronx, and Manhattan campuses + Meet regularly with students on probation, develop an action plan and prepare weekly reports on mandatory tutoring, attendance, and student progress for all students on probation. Meet with first-year students weekly during the first semester and twice a month during the second semester + Attending all OP and HEOP staff meetings. Defined Contribution Plan Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary.
