OVERVIEW JOB TITLE: HES Office/Equipment Student Worker LOCATION: St. Paul Campus Pay Rate :$15.57 JOB SUMMARY: The Department of Health & Exercise Science supports majors in: Exercise Science, Public Health and Health Promotion & Wellness. We are looking for a student worker in one of these majors to help train other students on equipment within the department, complete equipment inventory, assist with office work and ad hoc requests from faculty. Training is provided and a background check is required for this position. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Equipment inventory, student training, maintenance, and check-out + Assist the department faculty with requests and projects as needed + Ability to answer questions related to software, equipment, and department & UST processes. + Aid with miscellaneous tasks (i.e. make copies, run errands, help keep office & classrooms clean, answer student questions, etc.) TRANSFERABLE SKILLS: + Become knowledgeable on equipment used by professionals in your field + Learn how to perform tests used for research in Health & Exercise Science + Develop problem solving skills + Gain organizational skills + Enhance communication skills + Strong technical skills or a proclivity to learn new things + Organized and a professional demeanor + Discretion and awareness in handling confidential information + Desired Field of Study: HES major, however will consider HES minors QUALIFICATIONS ELIGIBILITYTo be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at theundergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
