Job Description
Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries is looking for a Hi-Lo-Bander at our plant in Plymouth, Michigan. This position reports to the production supervisor and plant manager. The Hi-Lo Bander is responsible for operating banding equipment and the Hi-Lo, while ensuring that the finished product is removed from the mill for continuous operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow workplace safety practices set forth by Atlas Tube Inc. Policy & OSHAFollow verbal and written instructions Perform daily hi-lo inspections and report any deficiencies Operate automated banding machinesWrite information from bundle tag to side of bundle (Tag#)Verify bundle details match tagStud welds bundle tag to both ends of bundleInspect bundle for defectsDrain excess coolant from each bundle using the drain tableUses Hi-Lo to properly stack and align bundles, then transfer to warehouse or cutting bayAssist in mill changeovers Perform daily preventative maintenanceReport any irregularities or malfunctions to managers and/or maintenance Assist maintenance in making repairsAssist other operators when required during breakdowns, bottlenecks, and scheduled downtimeMaintain a clean and safe work areaKnow and follow LOTO proceduresOther duties as assignedPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma/GEDBasic Computer KnowledgeAbility to use hand held measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.)Use of cutting torchesHi-Lo License
Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
