Downer Energy work with some of New Zealand’s largest asset owners and energy providers including Powerco. We are currently looking for an experienced Electrician/Electrical Fitter for an exciting opportunity based in New Plymouth. 


About the role:

Grow your career as an Electrician/Electrical fitter within our team based in Taranaki – whether you have previous high voltage experience, or if you are looking for a change from industrial work – this could be your next role.

You will be responsible for the Installation and technical maintenance of electrical equipment including Substations, Transformers, Switchgear, Regulators, and other associated network equipment.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

It is essential that you are an experienced Electrician or equivalent with knowledge of the power industry, with experience in Distribution, transmission or industrial and can offer:
 

Relevant EWRB registration and practising licence Current Class 1 driver’s licence (and Class 2 preferred) Sound knowledge of electrical test equipment, systems and procedures Electricity Distribution, Transmission Industrial Electrical experience  Sound verbal and written communication skills Physical stamina to carry out manual work, often in trying conditions
