Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field. 5+ years in automotive systems design with demonstrated experience in product design for EMC. 5+ experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB / Simulink. Demonstrated proficiency with one or more numerical simulation tools including, FEKO, CST, EMCoS and ANSYS HFSS. Working knowledge of system validation, system interactions and integration processes for highly complex product developments. Familiar with CAN, SENT and LIN communication interfaces. Experience with programming of EMC test interfaces using CANalyzer. Experience working with HV Batteries and Battery control systems. Familiar with Ford component EMC standards including FMC1278 and FMC1280. Familiar with international automotive standards (ISO, IEC, CISPR, ICNIRP) and regulatory standards including ECE Regulation 10, Canada ICES-002, GB/T 18387, etc. Familiar with high voltage power semiconductors (Si/SiC/GaN MOSFET’s, Diodes) and associated parasitic effects on their EMI characteristics. What you'll do...
Conduct vehicle and component level EMC testing. Generate EMC/EMI analysis, design, and mitigation reports. Diagnose root cause of EMC compliance issues at component and vehicle level and work with component and vehicle teams to develop mitigation actions. Perform design reviews of HV components to assure EMC best practices (Harness layout, grounding strategies, shield terminations, filtering, etc.) are incorporated into the design. Use analytical and numerical tools to support these actions. Conduct and leverage benchmark data of the competitor product designs to assure that robust and cost-effective design practices are always being implemented. Create requirements, design guides and test methods for various aspects of the HV system EMC. Develop component EMC test plans to assure the design fully meets corporate and regulatory requirements. Interface with internal and external test houses/vendors for EMC test planning and execution. Research industry and university advancements in EMC. Collaborate with Ford research teams on advanced numerical analysis and EMC CAE modeling techniques.
