Highways Engineer

Role description: 

Due to an exciting period of growth in Adelaide, we are looking for Highways Engineers to join our core Civil Infrastructure Business unit. You will be working alongside our design managers, coordinating with disciplines, establishing relationships and assisting with design management and delivery.

Reporting to the Design Manager you will be required to:

Manage selected designs and teams for projects or design elements to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets, while exceeding client expectation.  Promote and market all facets of Arcadis’ services during interfaces with clients and colleagues in other disciplines. Contribute towards the achievement of the divisional business plan. Build and consolidate networks within the industry. Promote best value solutions.

Role accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Managing selected projects or components of projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation and delivery.  Managing subcontractors, quality assurance and client feedback and ensure effective communication of any changes/modifications.  Working in collaboration with other design teams and disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.  Providing technical advice to project team members.  Reviewing and ensuring compliance in the components of the project for which responsible, including drawings, reports, specifications and studies and the interfaces with other disciplines. 

Qualifications & Experience:

You have a forward-thinking attitude and are ready to challenge yourself. You are a degree qualified engineer with experience in civil design and will come to us with:  

Relevant engineering degree with or progressing to Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation.  Experience (minimum 5+ years) in providing high-quality delivery of roads and civil related concepts and designs whilst working collaboratively with other teams. Sound understanding and experience working with local design standards including Austroads Guide to Road Design and specifications. Experience of working in multi-disciplinary design teams. Sound understanding, or desire to progress into design management.     Experience in reviewing designs in 3D software. Stakeholder management capability through effective communication. A passion for continuous improvement, quality and improving service for our clients.
