We are recruiting for the position of Hill's Associate Legal Counsel. This position will report to the Hill’s Sr Legal Director, Americas and will be a key contributor in leading meetings with internal clients, highlighting issues, creating action plans that include developing and presenting recommendations and providing comprehensive analyses that includes formulating arguments and managing legal knowledge management systems.
What You Will Do
+ Provide advice to clients and progress contract matters from initial meeting through advice, contract drafting, negotiation and final conclusion
+ Provide autonomous advice, guidance and counsel to the internal business clients regarding the appropriate legal framework and contractual embodiment of that framework for relationships between Hill's and its third party suppliers
+ Progress matters from initial meeting through advice, contract drafting, negotiation and final conclusion, where possible
+ Partner with CP attorneys and/or outside counsel for drafting resolutions and minutes in preparation of Board of Director and Shareholder meetings
+ Review/draft Board documents for various Hill's legal entities, progressing subsidiary action approval requests per internal process
+ Liaise with Hill’s attorneys on Intercompany Administrative Services, Distribution, Sales, Line of Credit/Loan, Agreements, etc
+ Perform general legal activities including coordinating internal witnesses, deposition schedules/certifications for support on litigation matters, assistance with insurance matters
+ Draft legal letters and resolve demands involving relevant Colgate-Palmolive and Hill's stakeholders
+ Perform legal research necessary for Hill’s to respond to discovery requests
+ Perform legal research and prepare summaries and advice based on research
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree & JD from an ABA accredited law school
+ Admission to US bar
+ 3+ years or more experience in a corporate law department or law firm
+ Proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Drive
+ Experienced in performing legal research and proficient with legal database tools (i.e., Pacer, Westlaw, Bloomberg)
+ Proven ability to organize, manage and interpret a high volume of legal information
+ Strong drafting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 3+ years or more prior work experience in a legal capacity in a corporate law department working with senior counsel and senior business leaders
+ Undergraduate degree in business or an MBA
**Compensation and Benefits**
Salary Range $102,400.00 - $144,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
