About this position

Supports the management of health information. Assists in the processing of documents and medical records within the department scope of assigned authority.

 

Requirements

Education

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Associate Degree in Health Information Management or a related field preferred.   

Experience

• Successful completion of medical terminology or secretarial course preferred.
• One year office experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in Windows networked environment.
• Knowledge of privacy requirements for health information preferred.
• Ability to work as a team member and also independently, strong interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational, logical, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Proficient in MS-Excel, MS-Word and email.
• Demonstrates customer oriented environment.
• Ability to work with customers, providers, law enforcement and attorneys.
