Overview

CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health includes 275 providers delivering quality care to patients across 88 locations in central and eastern Kentucky. Our full service network delivers a variety of Primary Care Services including Family Internal Geriatric and Pediatric Medicine in addition to several specialties to deliver custom care based on the unique needs of our patients.


Responsibilities
Job Summary / Job Purpose 

Under close supervision, the HIM Clerk I provides staff with an efficient system of maintaining, filing, locating, retrieving and delivering patient electronic medical records.

Key Responsibilities 
File and scan medical records into electronic medical records (EMR) system according to established policies and procedures.Request and provide medical information to and from patient care providers in strict accordance with HIPAA and all policies and procedures.Maintain medical records and other correspondence according to policy.Maintain organization of information center and physical charts.Manage EMR fax queue and assist callers by answering and referring phone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communication.Manage the flow of interdepartmental, outgoing, and incoming mail.Pull and file charts for patient appointments, staff, physicians and/or other requests.File loose sheets (patient records) in appropriate chart.May answer phone inquiries regarding medical records.Perform other duties as assigned.CHI Core Expectations
