HIM Systems Liaison
GENERAL SUMMARY The Health Information (HIM) Systems Liaison performs a variety of duties, including collecting and analyzing data, creating dashboards, organizing reports and data coordination. This position manages current databases, creates workflow processes, and diagrams that improve workflow. Supplies training on the internal HIM processes and software as well as leads the system-wide Forms Committee. The HIM Systems Liaison is responsible for developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to system statistical projects. The HIM Systems Liaison is the bridge between HIM and Information Systems (IS). Reports to the Director of HIM and collaborates with the Medical Director of Clinical Resource Management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Develops and manages databases and dashboards visualizations including BI analytics. + Creates HIM reports to deliver timed data and analysis at regular intervals to HIM sub-departments and organizational representatives. + Facilitates training on the internal HIM processes and software. + Develops workflow processes and diagrams to optimize operations. + Leads the Forms Committee in the management of forms, electronic and paper. + Collects and interprets data from a wide range of data touch points. + Creates user friendly presentations to display HIM data to multiple reporting committees. + Collaborates effectively with HIM Team members, management, and HIM partners. + Develops and maintains policies and procedures related to system statistical projects. + Provides analysis and graphic display of quality data to inform efficient business operations and patient care. + Performs all other duties as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS + Required Licenses and/or Certifications + Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification, Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification, and/or ability to achieve credential within 18 months of hire required. + Must provide record of a certification at the time of hire. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS + Required Education and Experience + Associate and/or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Informatics or related field required. + Must provide record of a completed degree or academic transcript from an accredited program, college, or university at time of hire. + 2 years or more experience in healthcare data analysis, data management, data mining and reporting required. + Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Ability to assess healthcare data support and perfect HIM reports. + Ability to translate detailed and complex data into understandable conclusions and offer valued solutions. + Proficiency and technical aptitude with Cerner, Power BI, Eclipsys, and other HIM software. + Advanced to expert level experience in Microsoft Office suite products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. + Highly motivated and enthusiastic team player who takes initiative. + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. + Excellent time management skills, multi-tasking skills, able to shift priorities and able to work independently in a fast paced, fluid environment. + Possesses strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills as well as, the ability to interact with and build collegial relationships with diverse individuals. + Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills. + Ability to follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of all facility and facility-related (patients/families) information. + Ability to travel to various locations as needed for the performance of job role.
