Position Summary
Assisting with revenue cycle systems and reporting related tasks. This includes but is not limited to, medical record corrections, CPI combines, revenue error files and reporting. This position works closely and collaboratively with the Medical Records Management team, the ICAN team, the Information Systems department, and appropriate departments to develop and maintain a technology plan that supports the organization's needs.
Candidates may also be expected to assist in performing other administrative tasks as assigned as well as assisting other areas of the Revenue Cycle Division or Clinical Services Division as deemed necessary.
Primary Responsibilities & Requirement
CPI Combines Participate in design, build, validation/testing, education/training, and implementation of clinical systems as directed Update Document Crosswalk and communicate changes to department managers Medical Record evaluation and correction under guidance Create Electronic Record Patient Lists for approved Auditors in Cerner Collaboration, problem solving, and troubleshooting of HIM and revenue cycle systems issues Participates in presentation, attend conferences, and training as directed Serve on hospital committees as assigned Communicate clearly and efficiently verbally, written and electronically using available technology Work in a demanding environment and responding appropriately Log Service Records Other duties as assigned
Desired Job Qualifications/Skill Sets
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience preferred RHIA/RHIT or equivalent of certification (CPC, COC, CIC) preferred Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a health care institution Documented participation in clinical systems implementation cycle required (planning, design, testing, validation, documentation, and ongoing support) Effective Communicator Preferred Cerner experience with HIM systems (Cerner Profile, Report Request, Message Center, Content 360, HNAUser, and Work Queue Manager) Knowledge of Release of Information Understanding of information systems and their impact to customers Ability to manage multiple demands from a variety of constituents Ability to work outside HIM silo in cross-functional environment Solid writing and computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Excellent analytical problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Working Hours/Conditions
Normal hours (Monday – Friday) based upon shift requirements. At home-based work environment with flexibility after onsite training and competency established May require occasional additional hours or paid overtime to handle peak volumes which may be outside the normal business hours of operation for the department Minimal physical activity requirements Subject to frequent interruptions
