Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
The HIM Tech reviews, organizes and evaluates patient medical records for accuracy and completeness. The HIM Tech is responsible for filing and retrieving medical records. Performs essential HIM functions in CERNER, HMS, and other available systems. Perform CERNER QC and validation when required along with indexing and birth certificate functions. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Applicant's Job Requirements Include:
Required: High school diploma/GED.Required: 0-2 years of related experiencePreferred: Medical Terminology Course.Preferred: Clerical experience and computer knowledge.Preferred: 2 years previous HIM experience in an acute care facility over 200 beds.
