Primary Function:The Health Information Management Rep performs reception and clerical functions including response to requests for medical records and release of information, completion of death certificates, preparation and scanning of loose charting. This position is a part-time (20 hours a week) position overnight from 11:00pm-7:00am. The schedule for this role will be every weekend required and 1 day during the week as well as every holiday required. This position will require work at Christiana Hospital as well as Wilmington Hospital.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Utilizing excellent customer service skills, greets and provides assistance and/or direction to all persons entering HIMS. Maintains departmental security by screening all departmental visitors and permitting access as appropriate.Answers and triages telephone calls and distributes facsimile information. Opens, reviews and distributes incoming mail as appropriate.Identifies and triages requests for medical information received via telephone or in person. Assists requesters with completion of authorizations.
