A well known laboratory is seeking a Medical Technologist, to join their team on the evening shift in Brooklyn! Job Description: + The Medical Technologist performs qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the station assigned. + The Technologist will have an understanding of the principles of tests performed and working knowledge of the equipment used in the station which they are assigned. + Specifically working in hematology responsible for urinalysis, coagulation and spinal counts. + Ensure that all specimens are put in appropriate storage. + Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results. + Recognize critical or life-threatening results,, verify results, and report to the appropriate clinician + Document all results in the LIS. + Shift: Evening, 4pm - 12am with rotating weekends (Will train on day shift to start) Qualifications: + 0 - 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting + NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License + ASCP Certification + Hematology/Chemistry experience + Reading differentials Additional Details: + Competitive pay + Upward mobility and growth + Great opportunity to get into the general lab. they will be trained in chemistry + 1199 union benefits package. + Strong management team, supportive and great working environment.
