Job Description
The General Operator role has a seasonality effect, with work assignments varying based on the current season. In spring and summer, you will be part of teams supporting responsibilities such as inspecting and maintaining seed crops or managing seed inventory at the plant. Fall is a busy season with harvesting and seed packaging in full swing. During winter, you will clean and package seeds, support maintenance work, and handle warehousing and shipping to ensure our customers have the products they need for the coming planting season.
ResponsibilitiesReceive and process trucks hauling crops from the field for weighing and unloading (September-October).Complete a wide range of harvest activities, including husk and sort operations (September-October).Operate dryers to dry crops within the prescribed safety, quality, and financial requirements (September-October).Shell and store crops from bins in the dryer facility (September-October).Supply the Conditioning department with a constant supply of seed (September-October).Apply appropriate treatments to seeds (September-October).Label, tag, bag, and palletize seeds (November-March).Enter inventory information into the computer (November-March).Stage seeds for shipment in the warehouse (November-March).Retag in-house seeds (April-August).Re-bag backhaul returned seeds (April-August).Inspect pro boxes to ensure they are free of debris and clean (April-August).Wash pro boxes as necessary (April-August).Monitor and operate equipment and facilities, including field equipment, ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures.Maintain safety standards at all times and initiate and follow emergency procedures when necessary.Rotate through various roles within the area, including control room rotation.Essential SkillsKnowledge of production agriculture and production plant operations.Ability to safely perform duties in a timely fashion while maintaining seed quality.Ability to work independently or with a team.Ability to adjust to changing conditions and anticipate needs.Ability to make independent decisions.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The role requires working both indoors and outdoors, with tasks that can vary seasonally. You will need to work long hours and rotational shifts, including overtime when necessary. The ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds is required, and you will walk on uneven surfaces.
