Job Description
As a Clinical & Forensic Toxicology Technician, you will perform immunoassay screening, confirmatory and targeted screening analyses. Confirmatory testing involves the use of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) platforms. Sample preparation techniques include solid phase extraction (SPE), supported liquid extraction (SLE), liquid-liquid extraction (LLE), dilute-and-shoot, protein crash, and hydrolysis pre-treatments. Targeted screening assays are conducted using LC-MS/MS platforms with high-resolution accurate mass (HRAM) analyzers. We operate a 24-hour laboratory, 365 days a year, primarily testing for drugs of abuse in pain centers and hospital settings.
ResponsibilitiesPerform immunoassay screening, confirmatory, and targeted screening analyses.Conduct confirmatory testing using GC-MS and LC-MS/MS platforms.Utilize sample preparation techniques such as SPE, SLE, LLE, dilute-and-shoot, protein crash, and hydrolysis pre-treatments.Conduct targeted screening assays using LC-MS/MS platforms with HRAM analyzers.Test for drugs of abuse in various matrices including urine, meconium, oral fluids, serum, and whole blood.Participate in Chain of Custody testing.Ensure instruments continue to run overnight during the third shift.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Life Science field (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, etc)Healthcare experience is a plus.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
