Under the general direction and supervision of the HIS Operations Manager the Team Leader is responsible for the effective coordination and organization required for quality electronic health information and records. The EHR Coordinator will provide supervision, training, education and ongoing support to staff in their process of documentation processing and release of information. The Team Leader will also serve in a quality control capacity.

Responsibilities Acts as a resource for staff. Trains staff and identify training gaps.Assigns and prioritizes work tasks to staff, monitors work in compliance with policies and procedures for EHR processing Performs audits and record reviews for quality documentation and data integrity. Corrects errors when necessary, shares results and issues with staff. Complete work assignments in accordance with an established timeline.Provide appropriate and timely problem escalation reporting as well as potential solutions to HIS and IS management as needed.Provide quality customer service through on-going communication, feedback and follow-through with manager and customers.Assist in development of documentation of policies, procedures, guidelines and quality control processes.Compiles staff productivity statistics and analyzes data and makes recommendations when necessary.Participates in the staff performance appraisal process by contributing data, recommendation and goals. Communicates and/or resolves system and/or technology issues timelyCommunicates and documents personnel issues to ManagerDirect - 8Team Leader assumes responsibility of the EHR Processing section in the absence of the Operations Manager.Qualifications Associate Degree and/or college compute technology courses preferred. Knowledge of health information management principals including processing of medical records preferred. Minimum 3 years health information services (medical records) experience. Prior experience in a lead role preferred.

Strong organizational skills.Strong problem solving, written and verbal skills (English)Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with people in order to accomplish goals and objectives.Ability to understand the work environment and competing priorities in conjunction with developing and department goals as they pertain to implementation and ongoing processing of the electronic health record.Strong PC and office equipment skills required, e.g., Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
