Actalent is currently hiring a lab technician to support the Histology lab in Cleveland, OH. This position would begin as a 6 month contract, with potential to become a permanent role, if desired. New college grads welcome! Hours are 8am-5pm, M-F (slightly flexible), and the pay ranges from $19-23/hr based on experience. Job Description The Lab Technician will working alongside the Histology team, performing the following responsibilities: + Block filing-organize blocks in numerical, alphabetical, numerical order + Block Melting-use of block melter + Block QA-especially with Beaker Go Live-computer work + Pick up rush tissue cassettes and load onto tissue processor-instrumentation would be tissue processor/computer + Run the Xylene recycler-instrumentation would be xylene recycler + Clean the molds-mold cleaning unit + Pick up tool boxes + Change routine H&E stainer + Pull blocks for recuts Additional Skills and Qualifications + B.S. in a life science (Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, pre-med, etc.) + Prior lab experience is a plus + Experience in a regulated environment is a plus + Desire to be in the position long term + Comfortable sitting and standing for long periods of time Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
