Position Information Position Information Position Availability: Position Title: History Department and First Year Writing Program Student Worker Requisition Number: 0406073444 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: ELC/History Responsibilities: Eugene Lang College is looking for two student workers to assist the History Department and First Year Writing Program. This is an in-person position and will be based at the History Department located on the 9th floor of 66 Fifth Avenue. Tasks will primarily involve supporting department events (such as event poster design) as well as clerical and administrative support (assisting faculty, delivering interoffice mail, and helping to direct office traffic & other general inquiries).

Ideal applicants will draw on their expertise in graphic art and design as well as their experience as current New School students to create compelling visuals and present clear copy for event flyers, posters, and marketing campaigns that will appeal to fellow students. We’re looking for a creative mind to make our department’s events stand out!
GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Assist staff in short-term and long-term projects
● Assist faculty in course materials preparation, public programming, and conferences
● Sort mail, make copies/PDFs
● Deliver mail and packages to other offices as needed (on and off campus)
● Set up for office events
● Stock and maintain supply rooms and office printers
○ Inform Department Senior Secretary when specific items are low in stock
● Maintain general cleanliness of office
● Other ad hoc duties as requested
ADDITIONAL EVENT PLANNING POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Design and distribute flyers
● Greet and register event guests
● Assist in the coordination of events prior to, during, and after the event
○ Monday evening availability highly desired
● Desired design skills include Photoshop/InDesign/Canva/Acrobat/Publisher
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
● Have a Federal Work Study Award
● Ability to take direction, and follow through on jobs until completion
● Professional demeanor, and strong customer service skills
● Strong organization skills
● Proficiency in Google Apps, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, Mailchimp, Microsoft Office Suite
(particularly Excel, Word) is desired
hourly rate $16.00 per hour
