Adecco is currently hiring a Histotechnician for a Full Time, Direct Hire role in the Bronx, NY area. Shift:? • 12 to 8:30 pm or 2 to 10:30 pm The anticipated wage for this position is between $27 and $29.80. Requirements:? • NYS State License as a Histotechnician or a limited permit • Experience in handling tissue samples • Knowledge of histotech lab equipment • Knowledge of histopathology techniques, immunohistochemistry and histology lab equipment • AS degree - Medical Technology or Histotechnician/histotechnology •ASCP (HT) Certification Job Description: • Run tissue processor to produce paraffin blocks • File paraffin blocks and slides • Embed pathology specimen to view all layers • Cut Pathology specimens on rotary microtome • Stain routine Hematoxylin Eosin to view tissue section, stain routine special stains (GMS, AFB, PAS) in order to identify organism or specific tissue elements •Enzyme histochemistry (leder esterase) • Perform order entry and update on LISA to bill special stains •Label and sign out slides to assure accurate distribution of cases. •Cover slipper (manual and automated), to ensure there is no water or air bubble under coverslip) • Record equipment maintenance to ensure proper operation of equipment **Pay Details:** $29.80 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
